This violin was made in the early 20th century by Albert Knorr in Markneukirchen, one of the most prominent violinmaking cities in Germany. Knorr was considered to be among the best of the independent Markneukirchen makers. He came from a family of violin makers and produced excellent violins with refined tones and easy playability. This instrument has a warm orange-brown over amber varnish and produces a clear, rich tone which resonates fully, engulfing the player in its warmth. With an immediate response, it articulates with bold precision and allows for the most intricate of dynamic contrasts, making it the perfect fit for an advanced or professional player.
