Julius J.C. Sauke was born in Rosche, Germany in 1800. He worked as a cabinetmaker and played violin and guitar before becoming a luthier. This violin, made in 1854 in Hamburg just two years before his death, is a beautiful example of Sauke’s work. It has a deep, rich tone that seems to just keep giving. Lush and full on the low end, soaring on the high end with clarity across all registers, this versatile violin would be an ideal choice for an advanced to professional violinist.
