Originally from Budapest, Hungary (b.1856, d.1925), Szepessy was the most famous student of S. Nemessanyi who moved to London in 1891. This violin is from his most productive London period (1882-1916). His craftsmanship is very fine and he used classical Italian models. It is in pristine condition, signed internally and is featured in the violin reference book Wanderer. It has a voice that soars with excellent depth and nuance. It is appropriate for the advanced player and professional.
