Haiko Seifert fell in love with violin making at the age of 16 and began his training as a maker at 17. After receiving his diploma and completing the German Masters Exam, he worked in the Eckart Richters workshop in Markneukirchen as well as the Jan Stricks workshop in Brussels. Five years later he established his own shop in Plauen with bow maker Rudiger Pfau. He is a VSA Competition gold and silver medalist, and this violin exemplifies his masterful technique and craftsmanship. Its golden orange-red varnish is wonderfully antiqued, and it has a remarkably flamed one-piece maple back. It resonates with deep breadth in the lower strings and fierce clarity in the upper register and it would be an ideal instrument for the advanced or professional player.
