After fourteen years defining acoustics of the violin, the Antares violin is the culmination of that effort. Made in a way no other violin in the world has ever been made, the Cicchetto Antares violin constitutes the first of a series to come. So different is the way in which Antares was constructed, that the process was recorded in a detailed book available for all makers and is available on his website. The Antares is made from 40 year old Spruce from the German Alps sports a one piece 20 year old Maple back from Bosnia.
So magical is the sound of the Antares it can easily be mistaken for a Del Jesu. Deep and powerful in the lower registers, sweet and delicate in the higher registers and can carry to the rear of any concert hall. The finish on Antares is so luscious it’s like silk to the touch. Easy to play, magical to the ear, any soloist in the world would cherish this violin. Truly a wonderful piece of art.
