Kurt Widenhouse graduated from the Violin Making School of America in Salt Lake City. After six years working as maker and restorer at violin shops in Portland, OR, suburban Washington, DC and Charlotte, NC, he established his own shop in 1990 and has made 250 violins to date. He won VSA gold medals in 1988 and 1994 and was featured on the cover of Strings magazine in 1998.
